Long Run

Good morning again!  Gosh, we had a busy day yesterday – and I didn’t even end up water skiing!  It was a water sports kind of day, though, and I did a LOT of swimming.  I actually swam about a half mile across the lake at Scott’s cabin. I used to be a competitive swimmer, and I think I’ve retained the stamina for long swims… Though I am verrrrry slow!

Last night I was busy packing to go back to Florida.  Here’s a rundown of my eats for the day:

  • Two granola pancakes at The Biscuit, a favorite breakfast place near my parents house.
  • Two potato skins and an asian salad (field greens, chicken, edamame, carrots, and wontons) at a restaurant in Grand Rapids.
  • The other half of my baked spaghetti pie from Thursday
  • 1/3 cup organic tomato and red pepper soup (I thought there was more left!) along with two medium slices of that Great Bread Comany light wheat.
  • A few bites of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie!

I did my weekly long run this morning – 4.0 miles! It felt great, especially with the new, more cushioned shoes I bought last week.  This ended week three of my Galloway 10k training program, and I am feeling STRONG!  My 10k is on October 11 and I am feeling like it will be a success.  (Cross your fingers for no injuries or illness – I am trying to train smart!)

I’ll be out of the blogosphere for a few days – one of the Husband’s fraternity brother gets married tonight and we are staying at a casino tonight with all his friends.  Fun!  Tomorrow it’s back to Florida and I start staff meetings at my new school on Monday.
